Maria Beleos is a nurse practitioner who treats children who have received gene therapy for neuromuscular disorders such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy, or DMD, and spinal muscular atrophy, or SMA. Dr. Beleos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Stevenson University, after which she worked for several years as a pediatric nurse at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing Pediatric Dual Primary and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
