Stephen Berry, MD

Description

Dr. Stephen Berry is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include HIV medicine and general infectious diseases. He serves as the Vice Chair for Quality, Safety and Service in the Department of Medicine.Dr. Berry graduated summa cum laude from Emory University and joined the Peace Corps to work as a science teacher in Malawi.

He then completed medical school, an internal medicine residency and a chief resident year at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He performed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins as well as a Ph.D. from the graduate training program in clinical investigation. Dr. Berry joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2010.

Dr. Berry’s research focuses on health services utilization and quality and secondary HIV prevention among persons living with HIV. He also focuses on the role of quality metrics in the US healthcare system's transition to value based care.
