Dr. Ashley Cimino-Mathews is a professor of pathology and oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include general surgical pathology and breast pathology. She joined the Breast Pathology Service at Johns Hopkins in July 2012.Dr.

Cimino-Mathews obtained her B.S. degree with highest honors from Emory University, where she studied breast cancer tumor vaccine development. She received her M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.Dr.

Cimino-Mathews's ongoing research interests include breast cancer immunotherapy, the pathogenesis of breast cancer metastasis, and breast stromal neoplasms.She is strongly committed to women's health care and breast cancer research. Her numerous awards for scholarship and research include Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, the Weill Cornell "Good Physician" Award, the 4th Annual Safeway Breast Cancer Retreat Runner-up Poster Award in 2011 and the Johns Hopkins Pathology Young Investigator's Day Top Prize in Clinical in 2011, a Career Development Award in 2013, the Pathology Housestaff Anatomic Pathology Teaching Award in 2014, and acceptance into the Emerging Women's Leadership Program in 2015.
